Roman began with HHBR league in 2020 and was elected President of the league in November 2022. Roman has been a part of the youth sports landscape in our our area for over a decade.

Roman has worked for a local non-profit agency for the past 25 years. Drawing from his career experience, Roman brings a wealth of knowledge as it pertains to the day to day operations and functionality of a Non-Profit Organization.

Dave Benson has been a part of the HHBR Board since 10/26/23. Dave was appointed to the position of Facilities Director on 12/12/24. Dave has worked tirelessly on both the field and facilities at the historic Mill Street Field. Dave prides himself on presenting a meticulously kept filed for all league members to enjoy on Game Day.

Dave was elected to the position of HHBR Vice President on 11/6/25

Karen began with HHBR in 2021 and was elected Treasurer in November 2022. She loves the game and wants to make sure those who want to play can play.

Karen has worked for a major local bank branch for over 2 decades. Karen brings her knowledge from this financial institution into her role as Treasurer.

Rich Townson has been a part of the HHBR Board since 8/21/25. Rich is an Account Manager for a Local Firm. Rich brings his strong work ethic from the corporate world to our league. Rich has a wealth of knowledge as a longtime coach of local Youth Sports. Rich is also the Director of Home School Sports in the Southern Teir. Rich is determined to make the HHBR league better for the players and advance the good work that previous board members have already completed.

Rich was elected to the position of HHBR Secretary on 11/6/25.

Dave began with HHBR in 2012 and was elected Babe Ruth Commissioner in October 2021. Dave has been a part of the youth sports landscape in our area for over two decades.

Dave has worked for a local bank branch for over two decades. Dave brings an amazing work ethic and a love for baseball to the team.

Jen was officially elected as a Horseheads Babe Ruth League Board Member at Large on 1/11/23. A local HHHS graduate, Jen went on to study at Keuka College and later earned her Master of Social Work at the University of New England. Jen’s full talents are on display daily as a local School Social Worker. Jen is a fierce advocate for the youth she interacts with and has been diligently shaping a caring culture in our community for over 20 years.

Josh Baker has been with the HHBR Board, as a Member at Large, since 10/26/23. Josh Loves baseball and Loves the youth of our community even more. Josh has coached youth baseball with both the HHSD and HHBR Baseball. Josh has served as the Manager Liaison for multiple seasons. Josh is a compassionate volunteer that has been a member of the local Emergency Medical / Response industry for our local community for many years.

Don Mantey has been a part of the HHBR Board since 9/30/25. Don and his family our proud members of the Horseheads District. Don is a Senior Project Manager for a local Construction Company. Don has experience coaching youth baseball for both HHLL and BFLL as well as HHBR. Don is highly ambitious and is ready to assist the league in any area needed. Don’s ultimate goal with the league is to make the baseball experience as enjoyable as possible for all players, parents and fans.
